Heavy rain lashed parts of the city on Friday afternoon, bringing down the temperature a few notches and slowing traffic due to waterlogging.
The weather station at Safdarjung, the official reading for the city, recorded 45.4 mm of rain in the afternoon. Rain was restricted to parts of south and central Delhi, with the weather station at Lodhi Road receiving 38 mm of rain. Areas like Palam and Ayanagar remained dry. The station at the Ridge received 2.6 mm of rain.
The maximum temperature settled at 35.8 degrees Celsius and the minimum was at 28.3 degrees Celsius. However, humidity was high, and hovered between 65% and 100%.
The weatherman has forecast a generally cloudy sky over the weekend with possibility of light rain. Partly cloudy sky with light rain/thundershowers likely to occur on August 13 and 14 as well.
On Saturday, the maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to settle between 34 degrees Celsius and 26 degrees Celsius.
