“The woman in her complaint told us that she had been visiting the temple for many years now and during her visits she became friendly with the priest. Around five years back when she discussed her personal problems with him, the priest promised to solve it by performing a small ritual. In the name of that ritual, he took her to his house where he intoxicated her and raped her,” a police officer said.

“The woman also told us that the priest had recorded a video of the incident and had been threatening her of leaking the video and uploading it on the internet if she disclosed the incident,” he added.

Police added that the video that the woman has mentioned in her complaint has not been traced so far and they are working on tracing it from the priest’s phone. Further investigation in the case is in progress.
