The police on Thursday registered a case against unidentified persons for pasting posters with the image of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Mandir Marg. The posters also sport text ridiculing Mr. Modi.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (New Delhi) Madhur Verma said a case has been registered under the Delhi Prevention of Defacement of Property (DPDP) Act.

The posters were spotted a wall at Mandir Marg’s J-Block on Thursday. Police officers patrolling the area spotted the posters, following which the incident was reported and a case registered.

A senior police officer said locals will be questioned to ascertain the identity of the persons behind the act, and CCTV camera footage of the area will be obtained and examined.

Similar posters were also spotted on walls in central Delhi’s Patel Nagar and Shanker Road. These posters too were removed.
