Raja, the 20-year-old man who allegedly raped a young student inside Deer Park near Hauz Khas Village on Saturday, has been arrested.

The accused, an Arjun Nagar resident, is a vagabond and survives by doing odd jobs in Hauz Khas village where the woman and her cousin had gone on the night of the incident.

Raja and his juvenile accomplice offered to drop them but later Raja took her to Deer Park instead.

He had not returned to his home in the slums next to Deer Park after committing the crime.

The henna that his friend had applied on his hair proved to be an important clue in tracking him down. The accused shuffled between different parks located near his home.
