Delhiites on Wednesday woke up to heavy showers that kept the maximum temperature five degrees below normal at 35.7 degrees Celsius. The minimum temperature was recorded at 24.3 degrees Celsius.

The city recorded 1.4 mm or rain on Wednesday with areas like Palam and Lodhi Road recording 1.8 mm and 1.5 mm respectively.

The day, however, felt hot as the humidity was as high as 85%. The weatherman has forecast partly cloudy sky with a chance of light rain or thundershowers on Thursday. Gusty winds between 30-40 kmph is also likely. “The maximum and minimum temperature is likely to settle between 35 and 25 degrees respectively.

The unseasonable rain is due to the influence of a western disturbance that will be active till Friday. Thereafter, temperatures are expected to rise.
