A mobile phone snatcher was caught after he fell from the bike while fleeing, said police on Monday.

Two bike-borne assailants had snatched a DU student’s mobile phone in north Delhi’s Maurice Nagar on Sunday.

The student was waiting to board a cab post midnight to catch a flight. The duo snatched his phone and fled.

When the victim went to the police station to lodge a complaint, he saw one of the snatchers being brought by the cops. The accused was identified as Devender. Probe revealed that Devender and his accomplice Manoj, who was arrested later, had first tried to snatch another person’s phone in the area but had failed. “They later targeted the student and were fleeing when they accidentally hit a car. One of them fell on the spot and was arrested,” said Jatin Narwal, DCP, North.
