Some people were playing “dirty politics” in order to make the Delhi government’s recently launched doorstep delivery of services scheme “fail”, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said on Saturday.

Responding to reports of some callers giving fake addresses to the helpline for the service, Mr. Kejriwal said in a tweet that people should support schemes of public interest and that it was sad that some people were trying to derail it.

Launched on Monday, 40 government certificates and licences can now to be home delivered with the help of mobile sahayaks who go to the applicant’s home to aid in filling forms, paying fees and collecting documents. From Monday 10 a.m. till Saturday 5 p.m., a total of 8,971 appointments had been fixed and 1,952 home visits completed, a government statement said.
