Repair work under way at the Greater Kailash metro station on Friday morning.

A portion of a pavement outside the Greater Kailash metro station caved in on Friday due to accumulation of water following heavy rain, said Delhi Metro Rail Corporation officials.

“GK is a low-lying area having regular drainage issues. A portion of a pavement outside the Greater Kailash metro station caved in on Friday morning. Repair work is in progress and the affected area will be restored by Saturday morning,” said DMRC spokesperson Anuj Dayal.

The official said that metro services on the Magenta Line, which connects Botanical Garden to Janakpuri West, were not affected.

“Metro services ran normally. The DMRC is pumping concrete beneath the road to avoid recurrence of the problem,” the official added. The Greater Kailash metro station was thrown open to the public in May this year.
