Over 1,000 students get admission in DU under ECA

Up to 1,027 students have been admitted to undergraduate courses at Delhi University under the Extra Curricular Activities quota, reveals data shared by the university on Thursday.

The most number of students were admitted under the theatre category at 110 students across colleges. Among these, Kirori Mal College got the most theatre students with seven, followed by Ramjas College and Zakir Hussain College which have taken in six students each. Theatre was followed by Indian classical dance which had 80 students admitted.

The highest number of students admitted to any one college under this category was five at Laxmibai College.

Overall, the most number of students admitted to a single college under a particular quota was nine students under the divinity quota at Mata Sundri College. Up to 19 students were admitted under the divinity quota in DU. Ten students were also admitted under the yoga quota. Apart from this, debate had 54 students admitted for English and 49 for Hindi.

Interestingly, five colleges out of 70 did not admit any students under the ECA quota. These include Hindu College, Shri Ram College of Commerce, IP College for Women and Indira Gandhi Institute of Physical Education and Sports Science.
