Over 1 lakh saplings planted in Noida

As the National Capital Region continues to grapple with air pollution, Noida witnessed a major afforestation drive with over 1.70 lakh saplings being planted on Saturday.

On August 15, 1.04 lakh saplings were planted as part of a green drive launched across the State by the government, said Noida Authority officials.

Saturday’s drive saw participation by RWAs, schoolchildren, college students and youths besides the general public.

Office-bearers of local organisations such as the trade unions and industry bodies also participated, Noida Authority general-manager Rajeev Tyagi, said.
