Order reserved on transfer plea of ’84 riots case

A Delhi court on Wednesday reserved its order on pleas of three accused in the 1984 anti-Sikh riots case. They are seeking transfer of their case on the ground of jurisdiction.

District Judge Talwant Singh, after hearing arguments of counsel for the CBI and accused, fixed the matter for January 31 for pronouncing order on the applications.

Congress leader Sajjan Kumar, Brahmanand Gupta, Peeriya and Ved Prakash are facing trial on charges of rioting and murder of Surjit Singh at Sultanpuri in West Delhi. —PTI
