The police and administration in Noida have made elaborate security arrangements for the upcoming New Year celebrations.
They have not only deployed additional force on the streets but also gave permissions only to a few events scheduled to be organised on New Year’s Eve. “We received many applications seeking permission for New Year celebrations but turned down many of them. So far we cleared the application of one event in Greater Noida West,” said a senior district administration official.
Following the namaz row, the administration has imposed Section 144 of CrPC to avoid any untoward incident.
The administration said selling or bursting of firecrackers in Noida, Greater Noida and Ghaziabad is not permitted because there has been no manufacturing of green crackers so far.
Meanwhile, air quality continues to remain severe in Noida, Greater Noida and Ghaziabad.
