Another man has been arrested in connection with the murder of mother and son in Shahdara’s Dilshad Colony, the police said on Monday.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Shahdara) Meghna Yadav said on Monday that Amit Chouhan alias Goli, resident of Nand Nagri has been arrested.

Ankit (21) was arrested in connection with the murder on Sunday, the officer added.

Multiple stab injuries

On Sunday morning, Veena Malhotra and her son Ravi alias Lucky were found murdered with multiple stab injuries inside their residence.

During investigation, when the police scanned CCTV footage of the area, they found Ankit and Amit leaving the victim’s place. Ankit was called for interrogation where he allegedly confessed to the murders and revealed the involvement of Amit, the police said.

The accused allegedly told the police that Malhotras had lent Ankit a sum of ₹25,000 last year. Following this, when they pressurised the accused to return the money, he decided to eliminate them. He also committed robbery at their place, the police added.
