: A series of incidents led to a criminal being arrested, in addition to the recovery of Rs. 35 lakh that he and his gang had allegedly robbed from a Karol Bagh-based businessman’s employee minutes earlier, police said on Friday.

The accused, Amar, bumped into Constable Amit Kumar while the latter was patrolling the Sadar Bazar area on Wednesday, said Madhur Verma, Deputy Commissioner of Police (North).

The DCP said the boy ran away leaving the bag behind, which police found was full of cash amounting to Rs. 35 lakh.

In the meantime, a call about a robbery was received at the Sarai Rohilla police station. The complainant, an employee of a Karol Bagh-based businessman, claimed he and a colleague had been robbed by two bikers of Rs. 35 lakh near the Inderlok metro station.

“We realised the bag was the same which was robbed,” said Mr. Verma. Amar was finally arrested from a hideout in Nab Karim. During interrogation, he reportedly told the police that one his accomplices, Vinay, was a former employee of the businessman whose employees were robbed.
