Nominations for Mayor, Deputy Mayor and six members of the Standing Committee of the North Delhi Municipal Corporation were filed on Thursday.

BJP’s Preeti Aggarwal filed her nomination for the post of Mayor, while Vijay Kumar Bhagat was nominated for the position of Deputy Mayor. Seema Tahira of the Congress, and BJP’s Tilak Raj Kataria, Jai Prakash, Jayendra Dabas, Ramesh Kumar, and Aadesh Kumar Gupta filed nominations for members of the Standing Committee.

The civic body officials said elections for these posts will take place on May 18. “Since only one nomination each has been filed for the posts of Mayor and Deputy Mayor, election for these posts would be unopposed unanimously,” said a statement issued by the corporation.
