A day after a couple died after jumping off a high-rise in Ghaziabad’s Raj Nagar Extension, the police are yet to solve the mystery behind the alleged suicide.

Deceased Jyoti Thakur and Vishal Sharma had jumped from the 15th floor of Laurel Next Apartments in River Height Complex on October 20.

Ghaziabad SP Shlok Kumar said that the condition of security guard Devender Singh (30), on whom Vishal had fallen, continued to be serious. He is battling for life at a private hospital.

“Relatives of Jyoti and Vishal claimed that they did not have any knowledge about the couple’s relationship,” the police said.

Jyoti, who lived in Sahibabad’s Bhopura, worked as a domestic help, while Vishal, who was a resident of Noor Nagar, was a carpenter.

The police have not received any written complaint from any side so far.

Cops interrogate kin

The police are currently questioning the relatives, friends and neighbours of the deceased as they suspect that the families of the deceased are hiding some information from them.
