The Registrar of Delhi University said on Monday that no assurance had been given or could be given by the Vice-Chancellor regarding the continuation of ad hoc teachers in the new session. “Appointments of ad hoc faculty in the constituent colleges of Delhi University are made by the respective governing bodies as per the applicable rules, guidelines and regulations,” said the Registrar.

The Registrar was responding to a statement issued by president of the Delhi University Teachers’ Association (DUTA) Rajib Ray who had said the V-C had assured DUTA that DU would try to get all working ad hoc faculty continued in the new session, subject to the impending Supreme Court hearing of July 2.
