New scheme for reward on bills

October 14, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:35 am IST - NEW DELHI:

In a bid to encourage customers to buy goods from registered dealers, the Delhi government has introduced a scheme to reward them on submission of bills or cash memo on the basis of draw of lots. The purchase value should be over Rs.100.

The Department of Trade and Taxes has named the scheme ‘Bill Banavo, Inaam Pao’ (get a bill and earn reward), which will make it possible for customers to win up to Rs. 50,000. The purchaser will be required to upload the bill on the department’s website or take a snapshot of the bill and send it on the designated number through Whatsapp. Winners will be selected through a computerised draw of lots. The prize amount will be five times the taxable value of goods purchased, subject to a maximum of Rs. 50,000.
