New peripheral water main line commissioned

Delhi Jal Board on Sunday commissioned its new peripheral water main line which will benefit those, who were earlier dependent on tankers for water supply.

The regions that will benefit from it include Sadhna Enclave, Savitri Nagar, Seikh Sarai Phase-1, Soami Nagar and Chirag Dilli Village.

According to the Delhi Jal Board, the length of this new water main is 3.5 km and it runs from Malviya Nagar Booster Pumping Station to Chirag Dilli. The total cost of the project is Rs. 4 crore.

It will supply 10 million litres of water per day to about 50,000 residents of the area.

Water will be supplied through this water main line from Malviya Nagar UGR for six hours a day, six hours in the morning and six in the evening.—PTI
