Four mobile dispensary vans were launched by the South Delhi Municipal Corporation on Monday.
Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, who flagged off the vehicles, said the vans will strengthen the SDMC’s primary health services at a time when medical care is becoming more expensive.
One van each will travel through the four zones of the SDMC, reaching people living in unauthorised colonies, slums and villages.
Six more vans
SDMC Mayor Subhash Arya said the vans had cost Rs.14 lakh, and will be accompanied by a doctor and pharmacist.
Another six vans will be deployed in the future, added Commissioner Puneet Kumar Goel.
