The Chief Justice of Patna High Court, Justice Rajendra Menon, will on Thursday take oath at Raj Niwas here as the new Chief Justice of the Delhi High Court.
Justice Menon was elevated as Additional Judge of Madhya Pradesh High Court in 2002. He was posted in Gwalior Bench of the High Court till March 2008, after which he got posted at Principal Bench at Jabalpur.

Justice Menon took charge as the Chief Justice of Patna High Court on March 15, 2017.
During his posting at Madhya Pradesh High Court, 61-year-old Justice Menon was associated with several administrative committees. He was also appointed the chairman of the Bhopal Gas Victims’ Compensation Commission from December 2010 to March 2015.
He was also incharge of judicial education and training, and was the chairman of the Madhya Pradesh State Judicial Academy.
The Acting Chief Justice of the Delhi High Court, Gita Mittal, has been appointed the Chief Justice of the Jammu & Kashmir High Court, where she will become the first woman judge to head that court.
Justice Mittal served as a Delhi High Court judge for 14 years, 15 months of which she spent as the Acting Chief Justice.
‘Glass ceiling’
At a full court reference held at the High Court here to bid farewell to her, she said the “glass ceiling” was not broken by attaining a position but by making a difference for others so that they can walk ahead.
“I have not done that, and I have miles to go before I sleep,” she said.
