More leads in tuition teacher murder case

A day after a 31-year-old tuition teacher was shot dead outside his coaching centre in Jahangirpuri, the police on Tuesday said they are following up on three leads in the case.

Ankit Kumar, who ran the coaching centre with his brother and others, was shot dead by a masked man on Monday. His family suspects the involvement of his long-time girlfriend’s family. They said her family, especially her elder brother, was against the interfaith relationship. While this angle has not been ruled out, sources said the probe so far has not revealed her family’s involvement.

“We are looking at his relationship with other women, possible ego issues with a student and the [interfaith] relationship. The motive will become clear soon,” the police said.
