MLA dies, dengue suspected

Fifty-year-old former Congress MLA Meena Mandal died at Medanta Hospital here on Wednesday in a suspected case of dengue.

Ms. Mandal was admitted on October 10 with high fever. She breathed her last at 9 p.m. today [on Wednesday]. “She had high fever. It is a suspected case of dengue. We are waiting for the detailed report from the hospital tomorrow [on Thursday] before confirming the cause of death,” said Ramesh Dhankhar, Chief Medical Officer, Gurgaon Civil Hospital. Ms. Mandal is survived by a son and a daughter. She was a resident of Rajiv Colony on Kaithal Road in Karnal.
