Non-executive staff members of the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation called off their protest on Friday after the management agreed to increase their salaries.
The Staff Council convened an emergency meeting on Friday to resolve the issue. Nearly 1,000 staff members were on a “fast-and-work” protest.
“The management has agreed in principle to increase the pay scale for maintenance workers from Rs.8,000-Rs.14,140 to Rs.10,170-Rs. 18,500. The merger of pay scales Rs.13,500-Rs.25,520 and Rs.14,000-Rs.26,950 has also been agreed upon. All decisions will be effective from May 1,” said a Council member.
For train operators, the Council agreed to introduce a flat rate of Rs.2 per km as “kilometerage allowance”.
