Mercury to rise by 2-3°C in next few days

The maximum temperature in the Capital rose to 43.1 degrees Celsius, three degrees above normal, while Palam recorded 45 degrees Celsius on Thursday.

The Met department has said that the temperatures are expected to rise further by about 2-3 degrees in the next few days, with heatwave-like conditions in several areas.

For Friday, the department has forecast mainly clear sky with dusty winds blowing during the day. Many pockets of the city are expected to experience heatwave conditions, it said.

“The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to settle between 44 and 25 degrees Celsius respectively on Friday,” the weatherman added.
