A 20-year-old member of Neeraj Bawana gang and a proclaimed offender has been arrested for his alleged involvement in a murder, the police said on Saturday.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Outer North) Gaurav Sharma said Parmod Kumar from Haryana’s Jhajjar was arrested on Friday.
Parmod was involved in the killing of Amit, live-in-partner of Neeraj Bawana’s cousin, the police said.
On October 6, Amit was shot dead and his partner (Bawana’s cousin) sustained a gunshot injury in DSIIDC Bawana after which a murder case was registered. “Neeraj and his other family members were against the relation between the two, therefore, Pankaj Sehrawat [Neeraj’s brother] asked his accomplice Raj Kumar to kill Amit and their cousin sister also. Raj along with another accomplice Harish and Parmod attacked the duo,” Mr. Sharma said.
While Harish was arrested by District staff, Raj Kumar was arrested by Special Cell and Parmod was on the run.
Recoveries made
“After a tip-off that the accused would come to Kanjhawala, a trap was laid and he was arrested. A countrymade pistol and two live cartridges were also recovered from his possession,” the officer said, adding that three cases of armed robberies reported in Haryana have also been solved.
