A 22-year-old man’s headless body was found in Pratap Vihar Colony of Dadri in Greater Noida on Friday morning, the police said.

They said the deceased has been identified as Rehmaan, who belongs to West Bengal.

Labourer

Rehmaan, a daily wage labourer, lived in a rented house in Dadri with his friend Madroop.

Stating that further investigation is under way, the police said they have detained Rehmaan’s friend for questioning.

The police said Rehmaan went to work on Thursday but did not return home. His body was spotted by locals in the small hours of Friday.

Vacant plot

“The police control room received a call early on Friday. The caller informed the police about a man’s headless body lying in a pool of blood in a vacant plot. A team reached the spot and took custody of the body. The identity of the deceased was revealed later during investigation,” said Circle Officer, Dadri, Nishank Sharma.

“The daily wage labourer’s body had multiple injury marks. Also, Rehmaan’s head was severed. We have launched an investigation in the matter,” added Mr. Sharma.
