Man stabbed to death, teenager nabbed


A 21-year-old man was allegedly stabbed to death by an 18-year-old late on December 29 in south-east Delhi’s Govindpuri, the police said on Sunday.

The accused has been arrested.

A senior officer said the victim has been identified as Navjeevan Camp resident Rishi and the accused as Tughlakabad Extension resident Mohd Aadil.

The police said Rishi was standing with a few friends outside Aadil’s shop, when the accused asked them to move.

Violent scuffle

“The accused asked Rishi not to stand outside his shop and create nuisance. This led to a scuffle between them during which Aadil stabbed Rishi,” the officer said.

The youth was rushed to the All India Institutes of Medical Sciences, where he was declared dead. His post-mortem was conducted on Sunday.

Case registered

The police said a case under Section 302 (punishment for murder) has been registered and accused teenager arrested. However, the weapon is yet to be recovered, they added.
