Man shot dead

A 30-year-old man was shot dead by three men on Thursday night in north-east Delhi’s Seelampur.

The police said they have identified the accused, who were allegedly known to Ranjit.

Shot in market

A resident of Seelampur J Block, Ranjit used to run a brush manufacturing business from home. He was attacked around 8 p.m. in a market in the area.

“He was standing near a TV repair shop when he was shot near the head,” said DCP (north-east) Ajit Kumar Singla.

The attackers fled as people started gathering on the spot after hearing the gunshot. Ranjit was taken to a hospital, where he was declared brought dead. “Initial probe has revealed that the victim and the accused were involved in a fight,” he said.

The police are scanning CCTV footage to trace the accused.
