A 34-year-old man allegedly hanged himself from the ceiling fan at a playschool he owned in north-east Delhi’s Harsh Vihar on Monday morning. Before committing suicide, the man allegedly sent a WhatsApp message to his friends.
Suicide note
A suicide note was recovered by the police. Vikas Kumar, who also ran a finance business, wrote in the note that three months ago he had given ₹5 lakh to his paternal uncle’s son Pawan Kumar after borrowing the money from someone else. “The man has asked me to repay him but Pawan hasn’t returned the amount despite making multiple promises. It’s extremely insulting,” he wrote.
In the note, he requested his wife and children to stay with his parents after his death.
The police said Mr. Kumar left his house in the morning to go to his office at Tulsi Niketan and also took the school keys. When the family received the WhatsApp message, they rushed to the office but failed to find him there. The family then went to the school and found him hanging. He was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he was declared brought dead. The body was handed over to the family after post-mortem on Wednesday.
