A 33-year-old man was found murdered inside his house in Dichaon Kalan village of outer Delhi’s Baba Haridas Nagar on Sunday morning. The police have registered a complaint against unknown persons and detained one person for questioning.
The police said the incident was reported around 10 a.m., when neighbours started complaining about a foul smell emanating from one of the houses in Dichaon Kalan village.
Missing since Feb 7
A police team reached the spot and broke open the door, which was locked from outside. Inside, the police found a highly-decomposed body. The victim, identified as a labourer, his hands and legs were tied with a telephone wire.
As per the victim’s family, a senior police officer said, the victim was missing since February 7.
The police said the man’s body was found on a plot of land where his family lived earlier. The family shifted to another house, located near the main village, a few months ago.
“We suspect that someone close to the victim killed him. His mobile phone was found lying nearby. The body has been sent for post-mortem to a nearby hospital,” said a senior police officer.
Role of family member
“So far, we have stumbled across a private number through which the victim received 24 calls on a single day,” added the senior police officer. The police said they suspect the role of a family member behind the murder, since the victim was allegedly homosexual.
