A 27-year-old man was gunned down and his brother sustained an injury, after they were attacked for resisting a robbery bid by two bike borne men in Narela on Thursday evening.

The alleged shooting took place at 8.45 p.m., outside the house of the victims. The police are yet to make an arrest into the case despite the incident having been captured on a CCTV camera.

The incident happened when Neeraj Jain and his brother Rinku (30), who run a confectionary shop in Narela reached outside their home, where the assailants came on their motorcycle, wearing helmets. They initially asked for the bag which the victims refused to part with.

The suspects then fired aerial shots to scare the brothers after which a bullet was shot at Neeraj and he died on the spot, said the police.

The assailants then used the butt of the pistol to assault the victim’s brother, who was later admitted to a hospital where his condition was stated to be out of danger, a police officer said adding that a case has been registered and suspects are being questioned.
