Man crushed to death as public toilet roof caves in

May 07, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:35 am IST - New Delhi:

A man was crushed to death when the roof of a public toilet in Jahangirpuri collapsed on Wednesday afternoon.

Officials said the old toilet building was out of bounds for the public as there were orders to bring the structure down. Meanwhile, the police said they suspect the victim was a vagabond who visited the abandoned community toilet complex to do drugs. The locals have not been able to identify the youth who appeared to be in his early 20s.

An official with the North Corporation said the toilet complex had been taken over by the DUSIB in December last year. “A contractor had been engaged to dismantle this facility,” said a source.
