A 32-year-old man employed with a private hospital in Noida allegedly committed suicide using a countrymade gun in east Delhi’s New Ashok Nagar on Tuesday night, the police said on Thursday.

Abhinav, who belonged to Hathras, worked with the hospital’s administration department and lived in a paying guest accommodation provided by the hospital. Hearing the gunshot, people from adjoining rooms rushed to his room but found it locked from inside. The police were informed and a team reached the accommodation.

“The police broke open the door and found Abhinav lying in a pool of blood. He had shot himself in the temple. He was rushed to a hospital, where he was declared brought dead. No suicide note was found,” said a police officer.

Preliminary probe has indicted that he had differences with his wife, the police said. They added that he had been married for two years.

“His body was handed over to his family after the post-mortem.We have initiated inquest proceedings in the case but his family does not suspect foul play,” he said.
