A 25-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly raping a 5-year-old girl in Dwarka on Tuesday, the police said on Friday.
A senior officer said a PCR call was received from a passer-by who said a girl appeared to have been raped. “The police took her to DDU Hospital. She was unable to give information about her parents,” the officer said.
During the probe, the police showed the victim’s photo to the people in the area where she was found. “The girl’s parents were identified within four-five hours,” the officer said. The CCTV footage helped them find the accused, who said he lured the girl by offering her a cold drink. A case has been registered on charges of rape and under POCSO Act. The victim is undergoing treatment, they said.
