Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) chairperson Swati Maliwal on Saturday wrote to Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar over the alleged sexual assault of 34 minor girls at a shelter home in Muzaffarpur.

She urged the State government to ensure that the minors are not pressurised into changing their statements.

The DCW chief also sought details pertaining to whether the girls were being sent to school and whether they were being counselled. Ms. Maliwal has also asked Mr. Kumar about the steps being taken by the State government to ensure the safety of the girls.
