‘Left flagged gas pricing scam for months’

After Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday said the Anti-Corruption Branch would file an FIR against UPA Ministers and Reliance Industries over the hike in natural gas prices, the CPI and the CPI(M) said they have been highlighting the issue for several months now.

Final hearings on a Public Interest Litigation petition filed by CPI member Gurudas Dasgupta in the issue are scheduled to begin on March 4. CPI(M) leader Sitaram Yechury said the evidence for filing an FIR was based on documents Mr. Kejriwal and Prashant Bhushan collected from the party’s Centre of Indian Trade Union offices.

Briefing journalists, Mr. Yechury said, “It is good that somebody else is also taking up this case.” He said the Delhi government could have shown some courtesy by acknowledging the legwork done by the Left parties. “There is no new revelation of corruption as it is being projected,” he said
