Lieutenant-Governor Anil Baijal expressed concern over delay in implementation of multi-modal integration at metro stations and the lack of coordination between agencies, a Raj Niwas statement said.
Mr. Baijal chaired the governing body meeting of the Unified Traffic and Transportation Infrastructure (Planning and Engineering) Centre (UTTIPEC) on Tuesday, where the issue of multi-modal integration of metro stations was discussed.
UTTIPEC had approved multi-modal integration plans for 60 metro stations of Phase-III, and 10 stations of Phases I and II over the past four years, the statement said. The plans include integration of the area around the stations with buses, private transport and public conveniences.
During the meeting, UTTIPEC officials presented the status of implementation of multi-modal integration plans for Kashmere Gate, Nehru Enclave, Nehru Place, South Campus (Dhaula Kuan), Moti Bagh and Mayur Vihar Phase-I stations.
The L-G “expressed concern on the slow progress on the implementation of multi-modal integration plan for metro stations and lack of co-ordination among various agencies like the DMRC [Delhi Metro Rail Corporation], the PWD [Public Works Department ], traffic police, the municipal corporations, the DTTDC [Delhi Tourism and Transportation Development Corporation], etc.”.
At the meeting, the DMRC was told to prepare detailed drawings of multi-modal integration of all metro stations and send them to respective executing agencies within three months. UTTIPEC will review the progress every month, the statement said.
