Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has directed Chief Secretary M.M. Kutty to submit reports of field visits of all government officials by June 19.

Mr. Kejriwal recently directed that every official would make field visits for at least half a day every week and submit a report.

“Whereas other officials may submit their reports to the respective HODs/secretaries, all secretaries and heads of departments should submit their reports to the Chief Secretary (CS). The CS may send copies of the field visits made last week. All reports should reach my office by 11 a.m. on Monday,” the Chief Minister wrote in his letter to Mr. Kutty.

‘Directive for all’

“All officials [of the Delhi government] must follow these instructions,” the letter added.

Mr. Kejriwal also said that field visits by government officials were of “utmost importance to keep abreast of what is happening”.

The order comes close on the heels of the Chief Minister announcing that disciplinary action would be taken against officials who did not meet people for an hour on weekdays.

“I had directed that all officials be available in their offices to meet the public, without appointments, on all working days. However, I am told that many officials are not following this,” Mr. Kejriwal had written to Mr. Kutty.

Violation at hospital

Meanwhile, Mr. Kejriwal and Health Minister Satyendar Jain made a surprise visit to Maharishi Valmiki Hospital in north-west Delhi’s Bawana and directed officials to take action against an alleged violation in prescription norms by a doctor.

As per a recent directive, only medicines listed in the inventory approved by the Delhi government are to be prescribed by doctors at government hospitals.

The Chief Minister also visited several wards in the hospital and interacted with patients.
