Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Friday cautioned Prime Minister Narendra Modi and sought his intervention in averting “an imminent crisis” expected to hit water supply in Lutyens’ Delhi.

Water availability in the New Delhi Municipal Council area, where the Parliament and Central Ministries among other high profile administrative offices are located, is expected to be affected from the second week of March. Only “efforts at the highest level” could “convince” the State of Haryana to release water to the Wazirabad pond, the CM said.

“...this request letter is to bring to your kind attention the water crisis which may hit New Delhi Municipal Council by the middle of March, in which period, the festival of Holi is being celebrated and further when children will be facing their Board exams...,” Mr. Kejriwal said.
