A local court here has invoked charges of murder, attempt to murder and common intention against Rameshwar, one of the accused in the Junaid murder case, during an argument over framing of charges earlier this week.

The police had earlier withdrawn the non-bailable charges against five of the accused, including Rameshwar, in the case facilitating their bails.

Nibrash Ahmed, who represents Junaid's family in the case, said an argument on framing of charges was held before Additional Sessions Judge, Y.S. Rathore on October 10 after which the court decided to invoke charges against Rameshwar. Mr. Ahmed said a revision petition would be filed at Punjab and Haryana High Court seeking to invoke similar charges against the four accused, who are out on bail.

Four of the six accused got bail over a period of two months after the murder in July in the wake of the police withdrawing charges of rioting, unlawful assembly and common intention against them in the charge-sheet.
