Says students’ body spreading motivated misinformation

The Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) administration on Sunday termed allegations put forth by the JNU Teachers’ Association (JNUTA) and JNU Students’ Union (JNUSU) as “false and malicious”.

Responding to allegations of “financial corruption” raised by the JNUSU, the administration in a statement said, “It is surprising that JNUSU has been spreading motivated misinformation on social media and questioning the wisdom of the university to invite two spiritual leaders. It is most surprising that such concerns were never raised when previous administrations invited spiritual leaders to interact with the members of the JNU community.”

In the statement issued by JNU Registrar, the university further dismissed allegations that a visually challenged student was failed by the administration due to lack of proper infrastructure in the university.

Deplorable state

“JNU has always taken a compassionate view and has adopted lenient policies by following government rules and guidelines. It is deplorable that some student leaders are politicising academic performances and evaluation system of the university,” read the statement.
