Jamia begins admission process for 2018-19 session

Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) has started its admission process for the academic session 2018-19. The admission forms and e-prospectus for all courses are now available on its website. The last date to apply is March 7.

Vice-Chancellor Talat Ahmad said that he was happy to note that JMI had not only digitised the admission process but also increased its regional reach by conducting entrance exams at seven centres across India.

“The digitisation has enabled students from far-flung areas to apply with ease,” he said.

PhD portal

JMI also launched a PhD portal in which research scholars and their supervisors can track the progress of the student’s thesis from anywhere.

Prof. Ahmad added that the PhD portal will increase efficiency, transparency and also save the candidates’ time.

After submitting thesis, the candidates will be issued an activation code and password allowing them to login. After this, the scholars are asked to fill up a form and upload necessary documents.

Following login and submission of documents, both the student and the supervisor can check the stage of thesis evaluation, including whether the external examiners have sent their report to the university or not
