It’s raining stipends for Delhi FMS students

The highest domestic stipend touches Rs. 2 lakh a month

Summer internship stipends have doubled at the Faculty of Management Studies, University of Delhi, with the highest domestic stipend reaching Rs. 2 lakh a month, a huge climb-up from last summer’s Rs. 1 lakh. Additionally, all 219 of the first year batch have managed to get placed. The highest international stipend is 500 Kuwaiti Dinar (approx. Rs. 1 lakh). This year, the placement season lasted all of three and a half days.

“There were around 36 first-time recruiters. Most students were offered an average of Rs. 60,000 a month,” said Prachi Chhabra, student spokesperson of FMS. She said they were especially proud of the front-end investment banking profiles that were offered to some of their students by leading companies.

Summer internships are compulsory component of the two-year MBA course.

Finance, investment, general management and marketing were the main industries which came to hire this year. In the general management domain, Tata Administrative Services was the largest recruiter. Other recruiters included Mahindra & Mahindra, Reliance Industries Limited and Airtel.

For consulting roles, Boston Consulting, Aon Hewitt, Deloitte, Accenture Management Consulting, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Everest, Cognizant, Capgemini, Synergy and Avalon Consulting visited the campus.

In the domain of finance, the campus saw Morgan Stanley visit for its front-end investment banking role. A lot of coveted roles were offered by firms like Indus Balaji (Fund Management role), Avigo Capital, IDG Ventures, Lumis Partners, and Edelweiss. Corporate finance profiles were offered by Coca-Cola, Philips, Vodafone and Mars. Citibank, Standard Chartered and HSBC also hired students with Deutsche Bank being the largest recruiter.

In the marketing sector, e-commerce firms Amazon, Flipkart, Snapdeal, InfoEdge came visiting along with some FMCG brands like Asian Paints, Coca-Cola, Danone, HUL, Mondelez, Nestle, Pepsico, P&G, SAB Miller.
