A day after a six-year-old boy was killed and a man was injured in an incident of firing at a gym in west Delhi’s Inderpuri, the police have arrested one of the accused in the case. Three other accused are on the run, they said.

Sunny, a helper at the gym, had a fight with Vishal and Raju, residents of Inderpuri’s JJ Colony, after his scooty brushed past one of them about a week ago. On Saturday evening, Vishal, Raju, Sunil and their friend went to the gym in search of Sunny to settle the scores. However, they could not find Sunny and picked up a fight with gym owner Manish, said the police.

Later, they took out their pistol and started firing indiscriminately outside the gym. Six-year-old Prince, who resided in the building, rushed towards the window mistaking the gunshot for sound of crackers. One of the bullets hit him on the head and he collapsed.

The accused also opened fire at Mahender, Manish’s elder brother, who was entering the gym. Manish and Prince were rushed to the hospital. While the child was declared brought dead, Mahender is out of danger.
