A man who allegedly impersonated a Delhi University student during the graduation exam has been arrested, the police said on Thursday.

The alleged impersonate, identified as Yashveer Yadav, belongs to Rewari district in Haryana. Yashveer was found writing the BSc paper at Ramjas College in place of Rahul.

“Maurice Nagar police station received a complaint from the college principal, who was informed about the impersonator by an assistant professor invigilating the exam. The invigilator found Yashveer writing the BSc paper on behalf of Rahul, who hails from Hapur district,” said a senior police officer.

The accused had put his photograph on the examination admission card belonging to Rahul. He was held and the principal informed. Later, he was handed over to the police.

“We have booked the accused and the student for their involvement in cheating. They have been booked under relevant sections of the IPC. Yashveer and Rahul are friends,” the officer added.
