House help commits suicide

A 19-year-old house help allegedly committed suicide at her employer’s residence in Defence Colony on Friday afternoon, the police said. No suicide note has been recovered.

DCP (South) Vijay Kumar said that deceased Anju was found hanging from a ceiling fan around 3 p.m. when her employer’s daughter returned home from school. The daughter informed her mother. Anju was rushed a hospital, where she was declared brought dead.

Anju’s parents were informed. Her post-mortem will be conducted on Saturday. She used to stay at her employer’s house. The incident is suspected to have happened after 12 p.m. after the another house help left. Anju’s mobile phone has been found and an investigation into the matter is on.
