Highlight weaknesses of the BJP, Rahul tells Delhi leaders

April 18, 2013 12:04 pm | Updated 12:04 pm IST - NEW DELHI

In keeping with his meetings with leaders of the States that would be going to the polls later this year, Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday met Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit, Pradesh Congress Committee president J.P. Agarwal and other senior leaders of Delhi and impressed upon them the need to highlight the achievements of the Congress regimes and the weaknesses of the Bharatiya Janata Party among the people.

Differences

Since Mr. Gandhi had earlier in January and then the following month also met Delhi leaders and heard them about the differences between the government and the party here, the meeting on Wednesday came in the backdrop of the earlier engagements in which Ms. Dikshit and Mr. Agarwal had openly spoken about how the two main constituents were not working in tandem in the Capital.

Party sources said the meeting, which was also attended by AICC general secretary in-charge of Delhi Birender Singh, also discussed the strategies for ensuring the record fourth consecutive term for the Congress in Delhi.
