In the latest development to the Mirambika Free Progress School case, the High Court on Tuesday rejected the Aurobindo Education Society’s request to immediately take up its plea against the court’s earlier stay order to maintain status quo of the school. Instead, the matter was listed for July 3.
The school had come into news recently when the Aurobindo Society, which runs the school had shifted its premises overnight to make way for an engineering college.
The court of Justice Vibhu Bhakru on Tuesday also questioned the society on why it had carried out the AICTC inspection of its premises when all the children were away on a school picnic.
The court had last week issued a stay order directing the society to maintain status quo of the school as it was before the overnight shift.
A fresh inspection of the premises was also ordered. The Directorate of Education was directed to prepare a comprehensive report to be submitted on the next date of hearing.
The school comprising 170 students, with children from kindergarten to Class XII, had been forced to shift in the middle of the school year angering parents.
