The Delhi High Court on Thursday raised questions about security arrangements at juvenile homes in the Capital. It also asked the Delhi government and the police to cooperate with each other and take a decision within six weeks on deputing officers for monitoring security at these places.
A Division Bench gave the directions after the Delhi government informed the Court that it had created six posts for monitoring of security arrangements at juvenile homes, which had received in-principle approval from the Cabinet on September 1.
The Bench, comprising Justice S. Ravindra Bhat and Justice Deepa Sharma, said all parties concerned should coordinate with the Women and Child Development Department and arrive at a decision within six weeks.
The Department and Delhi Police had earlier submitted a joint proposal to maintain law and order at juvenile homes after some juveniles escaped from one of them and the High Court directed the government to immediately deploy policemen there.
